A conflict unfolded in 22 BBY during the period of the Clone Wars, where Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi General, and Ahsoka Tano, his Padawan and a Jedi Commander, fought against enemy forces on an unnamed planet. They were supported by CT-7567, a Clone Captain, a squad comprised of clone troopers, and multiple AV-7 Antivehicle Cannons. Upon learning of the capture of Nute Gunray, the Trade Federation Viceroy, on Rodia, Skywalker dispatched his Padawan to assist in Gunray's transport to Coruscant. Skywalker himself remained on the planet to conclude the ongoing battle.
During the Clone Wars in 22 BBY, troops of the Galactic Republic arrived on a planet and began fighting enemy forces stationed there. Leading the Republic forces were Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, his Padawan, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, and Clone Captain CT-7567, also known as "Rex." The Republic troops established a base and used AV-7 Antivehicle Cannons to target the enemy's artillery. Tano went inside the base to research data, while Skywalker and Rex stayed outside, commanding the cannons and keeping watch.
Word reached Skywalker and his forces about a coup that had occurred on Rodia. A clone sergeant managed to make contact with the planet. Skywalker left Rex in charge of the heavy artillery bombardment and went inside the base to speak with Senator Padmé Amidala, his secret wife. Through a hololink, Skywalker learned that Amidala had resolved the coup and had also been involved in the capture of Nute Gunray, the Trade Federation Viceroy, on Rodia. Gunray was to be transported to Coruscant for trial regarding his war crimes. However, enemy artillery fire disrupted the connection before the conversation could continue.
Because he was needed to command the Republic forces on the planet, Skywalker couldn't leave. Instead, he sent his Padawan to oversee the transfer of Gunray and protect the Senator. Tano departed in a shuttle, leaving her master to finish the battle.
After receiving permission from Jedi Masters Yoda and Mace Windu of the Jedi High Council, Tano received permission to continue with her master's assignment. The Padawan traveled to Rodia and, along with Jedi Master Luminara Unduli and Clone Commander CC-1004, escorted Gunray to the Venator-class Star Destroyer Tranquility in a Consular-class cruiser. However, before the Star Destroyer could jump to hyperspace, Asajj Ventress, a Dark Acolyte, launched a mission to rescue the viceroy and prevent him from revealing Confederate secrets during interrogation.
The battle was first shown briefly in Transfer, a issue of the weekly The Clone Wars web comic series that led into "Cloak of Darkness," an episode of the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series.
