Battle on Lazerian IV

A conflict, which involved Knights belonging to the Jedi Order, transpired at an outpost located on the planet known as Lazerian IV. This battle resulted in the devastation of the outpost, with fragments of numerous lightsabers being strewn across the landscape. Subsequent to the establishment of the New Republic in the year 4 ABY, the location of this battle became a point of interest for the Galactic Empire.

The battle

At some point in the past, a skirmish that included members of the Jedi Order unfolded at a remote outpost situated on the continent called Laz on the planet of Lazerian IV. The Akwin, the native aquatic species of Lazerian IV, were witnesses to this clash, and they made note of the presence of several "strangers wielding glowing blades," referring to Jedi Knights and their lightsabers. The consequences of this battle were severe and long-lasting, leaving the terrain uninhabitable, with even vegetation unable to regenerate. The ground became littered with numerous lightsabers and pieces of lightsabers.

Aftermath

A considerable time after the battle's conclusion, an unconventional noble acquired ownership of the land where the outpost once stood, effectively prohibiting access to outsiders. The local population of Lazerian IV generally regarded the battle's remnants as an unsightly blemish on the landscape.

Following the formation of the New Republic in 4 ABY, a band of travelers stumbled upon the outpost and unearthed the scattered lightsabers and their components. They later endeavored to repair at least one of these lightsabers, while also setting aside certain parts for future use. Upon learning of the discovery of these lightsabers, the Galactic Empire began to take a greater interest in the outpost.

Behind the scenes

John Terra conceived the battle on Lazerian IV, and it was first presented in Twin Stars of Kira, a 1993 sourcebook that supplemented Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games.
