BD-27 Transport

The BD-27 Transport, a barge driver manufactured by the Corellian Engineering Corporation, served as an early model. This vessel established the foundational design for the Action series of medium-sized freighters that followed.

Characteristics

With a length of 100 meters, the BD-27 could be operated by a minimal crew of just a pilot and co-pilot due to its automated systems. A significant drawback was the need for frequent and intensive maintenance. Lacking any offensive weaponry and equipped with only minimal shielding, the ship's defensive capabilities were limited. The entire vessel was designed to interface with a cargo module capable of transporting up to 75,000 metric tons. Ultimately, the BD-27 was superseded by larger bulk freighters and found its niche in smaller-scale transport operations.
