Berav existed as an interior town located in the northwest section of the Kesh landmass, which itself was part of Keshtah Minor. After the continent of Alanciar was found in 2975 BBY, the Lost Tribe of Sith ordered the building of some new docks. These docks were located to Berav's west and were started in the year after the Alanciar discovery. The purpose of these docks was to serve sailors from Alanciar.
