This practically indestructible ore was exclusively located on the planet Mandalore and its moon, Concordia. The beskar employed in the armor's manufacturing rendered it nearly invulnerable to strikes from a lightsaber. Nevertheless, Darth Bane, a Sith Lord who penned a concise section regarding beskar'kandar armor within his work titled The Rule of Two, considered the armor exceptionally cumbersome. He remarked that any Sith contemplating the use of Mandalorian armor should employ a Strong or Djem So posture during combat.
Beskar'kandar made its initial appearance in Star Wars canon within the 2012 reference publication, Book of Sith: Secrets from the Dark Side, penned by author Daniel Wallace.
