Bio-Lab 177 existed as a laboratory located on the Vector, an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer.
This lab was among the various research facilities present on the ship, dedicated to the investigation of Imperial bioweapons Project I71A. Inside, a sizable tank brimmed with a churning liquid, and no less than thirty-three pairs of Human lungs rhythmically inhaled and exhaled together. These lungs were linked to a monitoring station positioned next to the tank. A dark substance was being drawn from the lungs and channeled into a collection of dark-colored containers in proximity. In 1 BBY, Armitage, an Imperial Corrections Officer, entered the laboratory during his mission to retrieve components for fixing the Imperial prison transport, the Purge. The tank holding the lungs started to produce a piercing, high-pitched noise, causing temporary hearing loss for Armitage. As he turned to exit the lab, he was suddenly attacked and ultimately killed by crew members of the Star Destroyer's who had been infected with Blackwing.
