Blake

Blake was a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic and was present at their clandestine Echo Base on the ice planet Hoth in the year 3 ABY. After a Viper probe droid landed on Hoth, the Galactic Empire discovered the location of Echo Base and launched a full-scale assault on the Rebels. As the Rebels began their evacuation, Blake was in Echo Base's southern hangar as the first of the Alliance's evacuation transports successfully escaped the system. Despite the successful evacuation, the Alliance suffered substantial losses, leading to the battle being considered a major Imperial victory. Despite this, Blake considered the battle the Alliance's finest moment, proving that the Rebel Alliance's spirit could never be truly defeated by military might.

The Alliance achieved a significant victory against the Empire in 4 ABY at the Battle of Endor, which led to its reorganization as the New Republic. Blake served the New Republic as a general, using his experiences on Hoth to instruct officer cadets in combat tactics. Blake subjected the cadets to a three-part simulation of the Battle of Hoth, dividing them into two teams, each assuming the role of either the Alliance's General Carlist Rieekan or the Empire's General Maximilian Veers, and tasking them with battling each other to seize control of Echo Base. Blake's intention was for the simulation to enhance the cadets' comprehension of the Alliance's triumph at Hoth, hoping they would then impart the lessons they had acquired to others.
