The Therans utilized it to restrict the departure of starships exceeding the size of a B-wing starfighter from the planet; this was to ensure the Death Seed remained contained within the galaxy. In 13 ABY, the Station became the target of an attack by the group known as the Newcomers. Following this conflict, an individual successfully detonated explosives within the cannon, causing damage. Subsequently, Seti Ashgad managed to take off and escape.
