Publisher's summary

BEHOLD THE ORIGIN OF THE RESISTANCE

Following the Rebellion's triumph over the Empire above Endor, Leia Organa's belief was that enduring peace would follow. However, decades later, the New Republic Senate is mired in bitter disputes and partisan deadlock, making that hope seem like a distant dream.

Leia, now a respected senator, must contend with threats that could devastate the fledgling democracy, originating both internally and externally. Criminal masterminds, deceitful politicians, and steadfast Imperial loyalists are spreading discord throughout the galaxy. Driven to act decisively, senators are advocating for the selection of a First Senator, hoping this influential position will provide strong leadership to a fractured galaxy.

As Darth Vader's daughter, Leia is wary of granting such extensive power to any single individual, even when supporters suggest her for the role. However, a nascent enemy on the galactic fringes may force her to reconsider this position.
