Carnivorous plant life known as Bloodvines flourished on Abeloth's planet, situated within the Maw. These plants were composed of vines coated in resin, and they possessed the ability to respond to the struggles of captured prey. They would constrict around limbs, restricting and ultimately stopping any movement. During 44 ABY, Vestara Khai, a Sith apprentice, was temporarily blinded by pollen and ensnared by a bloodvine hanging from a cliff's edge. Using her lightsaber, she managed to sever the vines, and Ben Skywalker, a Jedi Knight, employed the Force to telekinesis her safely back to the ground.
