A male Bpfasshi held the position of leader over a band of Dark Jedi during the era of the Golden Age of the Old Republic. He instigated the dark side energies and unusual events that later manifested within what became the Dark Side Cave on the planet Dagobah.
A Jedi squad pursued the group in the year 700 BBY. Within a cave situated on Dagobah, Minch confronted him, eager to demonstrate his strength by battling the humanoid. The Bpfasshi taunted Minch, referring to him as a "small child" and criticizing him for his anger and vulnerability. Incensed, Minch retorted with the phrase "Size Matters Not!" and attacked. The Dark Jedi swiftly countered the assault, asserting that size was indeed important.
The Dark Jedi apparently transformed into numerous miniature versions of himself, overwhelming Minch, who frantically defended himself with his lightsaber. When Minch regained his composure, the Dark Jedi was fatally wounded, and he informed Minch that he possessed the potential to become a Dark Jedi. As he perished, his blood soaked into the cave floor, giving rise to the various dark side energies and occurrences that would later characterize the same location, which became known as the Dark Side Cave many years into the future.
