BR-23 courier

The BR-23 Courier, a resilient vessel designed for personnel transport and courier duties, operated within the fleets and militias of the Galactic Republic. Sienar, recognizing the vastly superior profitability of the TIE/LN starfighter market due to the Empire's rapid shift away from transports akin to the BR-23, opted to repurpose a significant portion of its BR-23 inventory. This involved outfitting them with systems suitable for civilian use before releasing them into the general marketplace. These easily maintained and affordable ships subsequently generated substantial revenue for Sienar.

Although a large proportion of Sienar's excess BR-23 units were sold as freighters, they also operated as budget shuttles and privately owned skiffs. The BR-23 gained popularity among courier companies, independent shipping brokers, and a considerable number of smugglers after their time in the military. The Rebellion actively sought out these vessels wherever possible, as they could be readily adapted back to their original function as troop carriers.
