Brangus Glee was a Force-sensitive individual with brown skin, belonging to a species known for their skill and agility as travelers. He was originally from Dor Nameth, but he had departed his birthplace before reaching what could be considered old age. During the Imperial Era, Glee journeyed across the vast expanse of the galaxy, often found in starship docking areas, taverns, and gambling establishments, where he would place bets.

The character of Brangus Glee has roots tracing back to the creation of the 1983 motion picture, Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. During pre-production, numerous model figures of various alien beings were made for scenes set within Jabba the Hutt's fortress. Several of these alien designs, including a brown-skinned one the production team called "Alien 23", were discarded after the model stage and did not make it into the final film.
In 1998, the Special Edition Limited expansion for the Star Wars Customizable Card Game featured a card using a modified image of the model, identifying the alien as Brangus Glee and providing some backstory. This effectively made Alien 23 an official part of Star Wars lore.
