Bret "No Fret" Hanson served as an instructor for the Rebel, specifically heading up Alliance Training Center-5/Green Squad. He not only oversaw the training of numerous squads but also played a role in the defense of the facility against at least one Imperial assault. On one occasion, he pursued the turncoat Nik and cornered him within a Rakati city alleyway. When Nik hurled a thermal detonator at Hanson's location, Hanson swiftly engaged his jet pack, which launched him out of the range of the explosion. This allowed him to subsequently fire his blaster at Nik, resulting in Nik's incapacitation. After recovering from the blast, Hanson restrained Nik and brought him before the Rebel leadership for trial.
