This planet served as the original homeworld for the Caarite people. Furthermore, it housed one of the primary headquarters of the Metatheran Cartel, a trade syndicate largely controlled by the Caarites.
A significant asteroid impact millennia prior to the Clone Wars caused a dramatic shift in the planet's axis. This event led to a drastic reduction in the duration of the seasons, resulting in a transformed tropical ecosystem that redefined the Caarites' way of life. The Caarites' cities began to emit contaminants into the soil, gradually poisoning the world. Consequently, they relocated their settlements to the skies, constructing enormous airborne metropolises that helped to protect the unusual, newly evolved plant life below.
