Cairnmogs, sizable spiked lizards that were native to Chandrila, could no longer live freely. Instead, they were limited to the craggy hills of the Hanna Wild Game Reserve. These creatures possessed hooves on their feet and prominent bony spikes that they would rattle and shake to demonstrate their dominance. During winter, a cairnmog would hibernate; in the spring, it would mate; and in the fall, it would lay eggs. Female cairnmogs would leave their collection of eggs during the winter season, leaving their offspring to incubate on their own while the mothers tried to make it through the frigid temperatures. The hunting of cairnmogs was permitted on Chandrila, but it was closely monitored.
