The initial planet in the Calline system circled its star at such a short distance that it was dangerously scorching and could not support life. This planet contained a thick metallic center, which, hypothetically, made it appropriate for extraction of resources if significant safety measures were implemented. Rebel Alliance reconnaissance units investigated Calline I around 2 ABY, while they were in search of potential substitute headquarters.
