Camray eels were sizable, serpentine predators that were native to the world of Spira. They primarily hunted within the depths of the Shinkai Abyss. These creatures possessed immense jaws filled with rows of pointed teeth, and they would use their elongated bodies to ensnare and constrict their prey.
Within the oceans of the planet Spira, the camray eel existed as a significant marine predator. These eels could reach lengths of up to five meters and had a powerful, snake-like physique capable of crushing its victims. Its large head was equipped with two eyes, a snout, and a massive mouth lined with sharp teeth. Fins originated on the head and extended along the entire length of the body. The camray eel made its home in the deepest regions of the planet's oceans, known as the Shinkai Abyss. This area reached a maximum depth of 150 meters, with the eels rarely venturing above 75 meters below the surface.
Camray eels were typically solitary animals, preying upon sliverfish, which constituted their primary food source. Driven by their voracious appetites, camray eels would patrol extensive hunting grounds in search of sustenance, generally avoiding the formation of large groups. They would rest on the sandy, salty floor of the trench, and their skin's coloration provided camouflage within this environment.
Being predatory and formidable beings, camray eels were known to actively hunt and consume divers who dared to enter their territories. Consequently, big-game hunters regarded them as worthy adversaries, and camray eels were highly valued as trophies, as only the most accomplished hunters would risk entering their domain to hunt them. However, the carcass of a camray eel emitted a foul odor, necessitating its transportation to a taxidermist for preservation within a specialized storage container filled with coolant chips.
During the era of the Galactic Civil War, a contingent of Rebels, under the leadership of Seth Cambriel, embarked on a mission to recover supplies that had been dropped into the ocean. Their plan involved capturing a Camray Eel and utilizing the eel's storage tank to transport the supplies off-planet. Cambriel was confident that the overwhelming stench emanating from the tank would deter anyone from searching for them there.
