The seizing of the Death Star prototype represents an operation executed by the Rebel Alliance in the initial period of the Galactic Civil War.
Background
Before the breakout of the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire engineered a Death Star prototype to assess the feasibility of constructing the battle station.
The Operation
In the midst of the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance launched an assault on the prototype, under the mistaken impression that it was the genuine Death Star. Successfully breaching the defenses manned by Stormtroopers, they gained access to the control center, only to realize its status as a mere test model.
Consequences
Following the Rebel triumph, Imperial forces withdrew from the site. Subsequently, Darth Vader issued an order for the station's self-destruction.
Production Notes
The mission was initially featured in the mobile card game Star Wars: Force Collection on Android/iPhone as part of the limited-time quest called "Battle of the Death Star Campaign", which was available up to September 25, 2013. The Light Side emerged victorious at the campaign's conclusion.
