A droid acting as an air taxi driver employed a card scanner to collect payment for a taxi ride in the year 3653 BBY. Aryn Leneer, a renegade Jedi Knight, was required to use such a device to settle her fare after being transported to the Eeseen spaceport, located on the planet of Alderaan.
