Casus Belli 89, a French magazine dedicated to roleplaying games, was released in October/November of 1995. Numerous articles on roleplaying were featured in the magazine, notably a considerable amount of content for the Star Wars D6 system from West End Games.
Within this edition, one could find an introductory piece by Jean Balczesak, entitled "La Nouvelle République : Une autre époque pour Star Wars" (translated as The New Republic: another era for Star Wars), a collection of character and starship statistics by Philippe Rat with Jean Balczesak named "Arrière-plan étoilé" (translated as Star-Spangled Background), and the adventure module "« Statue » quo à Sluis Van" (translated as "Statue" quo at Sluis Van), an adventure that takes place on Sluis Van in 7 ABY and involves Thrawn, Mara Jade and Talon Karrde, also created by Philippe Rat with Jean Balczesak.
It's worth noting that this issue of Casus Belli included artwork by Fred Blanchard, and provided statistical information for spacecraft that would later be depicted in Blanchard's artwork for the comic-book adaptation of Heir to the Empire. Rolland Barthélémy, however, was responsible for the illustrations featured in the adventure module.
