Dropship

A dropship deploying troops A drop shuttle, otherwise known as a dropship (or drop ship), was a type of spacecraft created for the purpose of ferrying droids, infantry, vehicles, or supplies down to the surface of a planet. This could be for situations of war, such as planetary invasions, or for peaceful intentions. Frequently, these dropships would launch from starships that had the capability to enter a planet's atmosphere or land on the surface. Generally, dropships had limited defenses and weapons, and they typically did not possess hyperdrives.
