The chuka represented a close-quarters fighting tool utilized by Bothans.

Engineered to be worn on the hand, the chuka delivered a potent, concentrated electrical discharge with enough force to incapacitate a foe. The device's strong ties to the Bothan upper class meant that, within certain star systems, simply owning a chuka could be seen as justification for capital punishment on the charge of being a secret agent.
