Clær was a celestial body situated within the Claer system, which itself was a component of the Sern sector found in the Southern Core region of the Colonies. Notably, it hosted a prestigious preparatory academy. Sometime spanning from 5 BBY to 0 BBY, Wilhuff Tarkin, the Imperial Grand Moff, dispatched his niece, Rivoche, to Clær for enrollment in said academy.
Michael Allen Horne conceived Clær, with its initial appearance occurring in Cracken's Rebel Operatives. This was a 1994 supplement by West End Games for the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The 2009 publication The Essential Atlas located the Claer system, and consequently Clær, at coordinates L-13.
