Clynn served as an Imperial lieutenant during the era of the Galactic Civil War. He found himself posted on Kalist VI around the time of 0 ABY.
While serving his assignment at the installation, Clynn encountered Janek Sunber, a fresh officer recently transferred in. They immediately clashed, seemingly over the allocation of sleeping quarters, but the real reason was to establish dominance over the newcomer.
However, Sunber demonstrated he was more than capable of handling Clynn's aggressive combat techniques. By standing up for himself and being known as one of the 'heroes' of Maridun, he gained the lieutenant's respect. Clynn then mentored Sunber, showing him the ropes of life at the base, and one of the 'benefits' of being an officer—the ability to exploit (rape) female detainees.
After Sunber, at gunpoint, compelled him to free his prisoner, Clynn filed a report of the event with their superior, Captain Kale Roshuir, omitting crucial elements. Consequently, Sunber was restricted to the base while the unit was deployed to investigate a potential Rebel outpost within the Thila system.
Traveling with Captain Roshuir to Thila, Clynn met his death as a consequence of a trap set within the deserted Rebel facility.
