CoCo Town

CoCo Town, alternatively referred to as the CoCo District, was a business-centric area situated on the higher tiers of Coruscant. Among its noteworthy sites were Dex's Diner, the CoCo Penitentiary, the CoCo District Theatre, Pom Plaza, Pets' "N" Pieces, Bithuband, Dewback Inn, and an archival annex of the Galactic Museum.

Referred to as CoCo Town (an abbreviation of Collective Commerce District), this sector on the upper levels was replete with exclusive retail outlets, dining establishments, and vintage-style diners. A significant portion of these businesses catered to the maintenance personnel and support staff employed on the upper levels, while more upscale restaurants provided service to the affluent residents of Galactic City. Eateries and canteens, such as the one operated by Dexter Jettster, were frequented by spacers, freighter pilots, and a diverse range of beings, notably including the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Numerous less reputable cantinas within CoCo Town functioned without the necessary business permits and were equipped with repulsorlifts to facilitate rapid escapes from the CoCo District Constabulary.

In the time leading up to the Clone Wars, CoCo Town faced a waste management crisis, resulting in substantial accumulations of refuse in the streets and adjacent to prominent buildings. This situation necessitated the rerouting of Skyroute D25D—which connects CoCo Town to the Boribos and Hirkenglade Prefectures—between the Kansen Entrance and Trotus Exit. To address the escalating garbage problem, a new waste disposal launch facility was constructed in the vicinity.

CoCo Town also served as the place where the infamous death sticks were first created within a medical research facility. Although the death sticks did not greatly impact CoCo Town itself, they did leave a mark on the criminal underworld, eventually leading to a HoloNet News story regarding the addiction issues.

CoCo Town maintained its own edition of HoloNet News, a news service for the Republic.
