A coded virus, designed to remove any trace of itself from a starship's operational systems, saw use by the New Republic in 8 ABY during the conflict known as the Taking of Kuat. During the battle, astromech droids installed the computer virus onto the Imperial vessel, the Event Horizon, as well as four Star Destroyers; this resulted in those ships using their laser cannons to attack other Imperial warships.
