Consequently, it maintained a strong working relationship with the Scout Service, frequently receiving assistance from them.
Furthermore, the Colony Authority provided incentives to scouts who identified suitable planets for habitation or encountered new species amenable to joining the New Republic. These rewards began at 1,000 credits and could potentially reach 0.005% of the planet's total value; however, the New Republic, often facing financial constraints, rarely disbursed the full amount of these substantial bonuses, opting instead to distribute them as monthly payments of 1,000 credits.
A sense of rivalry existed between personnel of the Colony Authority and those of the Scout Service (and the reverse was also true).
