One of the pair, specifically the left-hand glove, had a built-in temperature gauge that gave the wearer command over the internal electrical heating mechanisms. During their time at Echo Base, individuals such as Generals Carlist Rieekan and Pharl McQuarrie, Major Bren Derlin, Lieutenants Cal Alder and Tigran Jamiro, the Jedi knight Luke Skywalker, and the smuggler Han Solo were all observed wearing command gauntlets.
