The Conclave on Katarr, a significant event within the Old Sith Wars timeline, transpired in 3952 BBY. It marked the initial, crucial episode of the First Jedi Purge during that specific historical period. In that year, the remaining one hundred or so members of the Jedi Order secretly gathered on Katarr, a planet colonized by the Miraluka species, known for their Force-based perception. Jedi Master Atris convened this clandestine assembly on Katarr, ostensibly to deliberate on the Jedi Order's future direction. However, her actual goal involved using the Jedi as unwitting bait, hoping to expose their elusive enemies. She intentionally disseminated details about the conclave, which reached the ears of Sith Lord Darth Nihilus.

Regrettably, Atris's scheme yielded disastrous results for Katarr, as the Jedi underestimated the sheer magnitude of Nihilus's power. He descended upon Katarr prior to the meeting's commencement and, employing a distinctive form of Force drain, completely severed the planet's connection to the Force, killing every living thing present. Among the planet's entire population – sentient beings, plants, and animals – Nihilus spared only a single Miraluka woman, Visas Marr, whom he subsequently inducted into the Sith order as his apprentice. 3,933 years after this event, the Jedi who had survived Order 66, which succeeded in nearly destroying the Jedi Order, tried to lure the Sith into a trap, resulting in the equally catastrophic Conclave on Kessel.
