Description
The Corellian Thunder, also known as a "Corellian gunship" due to its DP20 gunship classification, was built by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. This warship, measuring 120 meters in length, was a formidable anti-starfighter vessel. It was armed with eight double turbolaser cannons, four concussion missile launchers for engaging capital ship targets, and six quad laser cannons to defend against starfighters. The gunship also came equipped with a navigation computer, a sensor suite, and deflector shields. In atmosphere, the Corellian Thunder could reach speeds of 1,000 kilometers per hour. For faster-than-light travel, it possessed a Class 2 hyperdrive, supplemented by a slower Class 16 hyperdrive as a backup. It had the capacity to carry 300 metric tons of cargo and sufficient consumables for a crew to last eight months.
History
Serving the Alliance to Restore the Republic throughout the Galactic Civil War, the Corellian Thunder was a member of the Trax Sector Force. Around the time of 0 ABY, it participated in the battle of Bissillirus alongside the EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate Defector and its sister ship, the Dream Runner.
