The Coruscant Planetary Defense Force (PDF), operating as an element of the New Republic Defense Force across the duration of the Yuuzhan Vong War, held the responsibility of safeguarding Coruscant. This critical mission involved staffing the orbital defense platforms positioned above the world, and establishing defensive installations on the planet's surface.
To lead this defense force, Carlist Rieekan was brought back from retirement in 27 ABY. The PDF met its end during the Battle of Coruscant, alongside significant losses within the ranks of the Coruscant Security Force.
