Craig Miller (Lucasfilm)

Craig Miller served as the Director of Fan Relations for Lucasfilm spanning from 1977 to 1980. His responsibilities included the creation and management of the Official Star Wars Fan Club. Furthermore, he functioned as the editor and primary writer for nearly all content in the first two years of Bantha Tracks. Miller also took on the role of producer for the Star Wars episodes of Sesame Street, where he also controlled R2-D2's head during filming. Additionally, he acted as Lucasfilm's producer for commercial projects, such as those for the licensee Underoos. Miller was also the originator of the 800-number telephone hotline for The Empire Strikes Back, providing fans with access to recorded messages containing details about the movie and its characters, voiced by the film's actors.

Miller chronicled his time working at Lucasfilm in his autobiography, titled Star Wars Memories: My Time in the (Death Star) Trenches. The foreword was penned by Gary Kurtz, the producer for both Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, who described the book as, " "It's a book of stories you haven't heard before; an insider's look from someone who, himself, is a fan and found the whole experience joyful and exciting. These stories are told in a way that brings you in and makes you feel like you were there."
