Crant, a being belonging to the nighthunter species, dwelled upon Parein II 4. He launched an assault upon the wounded Jedi Knight, Valin Draco. The ensuing confrontation nearly resulted in their mutual death, during which Crant severed Draco's thumb with a bite and then seized his neck in his powerful jaws. Draco, however, was able to overpower the creature. Instead of abandoning it to its fate, he tended to its injuries and bestowed upon it the name Crant.
As Draco transitioned into the role of an Inquisitor, he began to bring Crant along with him on many different tasks. He brought him along on a mission to the Almas Academy and had Crant stand guard over the confinement of the captured Jedi, Vhiin Thorla. Crant eventually met his end at the hands of a team from the Alderaanian Resistance who had managed to infiltrate the academy.
