The crawl-carrier, a creation of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, functioned as an espionage and infiltration droid throughout the Clone Wars. These droids possessed a squat, rectangular form and were equipped with eight legs. A range of equipment could be installed on them, such as acid, individual explosive charges, electrical disruptors, and even miniature droids. Their diminutive dimensions enabled them to infiltrate areas inaccessible to larger droids or organic lifeforms. Once they identified an enemy target, they would unleash their weaponry to create chaos.
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker successfully destroyed the main manufacturing plant for the crawl-carrier, situated on the planet Dagro, two years after the First Battle of Geonosis.
