Dané, a Human female, was training to become one of the Queen of Naboo's handmaidens. She was being trained by Captain Quarsh Panaka, and showed promise as a fighter. She would eventually start her own business as a bodyguard, spy, and assassin.
Once upon a time, Dané, who was a Human female, had dreams of being a musical artist. During her early teenage years, she dedicated herself to learning various Naboo instruments. However, at the age of sixteen, her parents tragically died, leaving her with a struggling farm and a significant amount of debt. Finding herself without alternatives, she allowed her creditors to take possession of the property. Then, she traveled to the nearest major city, Keren, bidding farewell to the home that had been in her family for generations. Using the last of her money, she enlisted in the Royal Naboo Security Forces. After a year of training with the Queen's handmaidens in Theed, she impressed Captain Quarsh Panaka with her intelligence, quick wit, and natural talent for mimicry. Dané, however, struggled with taking orders and asked to be removed from the program. Panaka suggested she consider the Customs Security division, where she quickly settled into the undercover investigations unit, which gave her more autonomy.
In 32 BBY, she joined the Naboo Underground and played a small part in the defense of Naboo against the Trade Federation.
Later on, she felt that her position in Customs Security was not challenging enough for her, and she left the division after less than three years. During that time, Dané had acquired significant skills, becoming proficient with a blaster and a skilled negotiator. She had also developed a somewhat questionable moral compass, which was not well-suited to the peaceful nature of Naboo. Therefore, she decided that it was the perfect time to start her own business.
She began to rent out her skills to the highest credits bidder, and her reputation grew with each successful job. She worked as a personal bodyguard for a Rodian noble, as a spy for a rival family within the household of a wealthy Chagrian, and was hired several times to assassinate unfortunate individuals. Her initial hesitation about becoming a contract killer quickly disappeared as the money continued to come in. Dané convinced herself that as long as she was honest with her employers, she had no reason to feel guilty.
