Tomb of Darth Bane

The final resting place of Darth Bane was constructed within the walls of what was once the Sith Academy situated on Korriban; it was intended as a mausoleum for the remains of Darth Bane, the Dark Lord of the Sith, who passed away nearly one thousand years prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars. At the opposite end of the immense burial space, an enormous statue depicting Bane clad in his Sith battle armor was built. The stone sarcophagus where Bane was interred functioned as a concealed gateway leading to a chamber where the ancient Sith carried out sacrifices of Jedi.

Approximately around 20 BBY, Yoda, the Jedi Grand Master, made a journey to Korriban and proceeded to enter the tomb where Bane had been entombed for centuries. Bane then stirred, manifesting as a colossal, glowing apparition emerging from his sarcophagus, and he confronted Yoda, questioning if the Jedi had arrived seeking instruction as his student. Yoda responded by stating that Bane was nothing more than an illusion, causing the specter to vanish back into the sarcophagus.

Due to his failure in attempting to seize control of the body of his apprentice, Darth Zannah, Bane's physical form was completely destroyed, and his spirit was banished to Chaos; all that remained was his arm, which had been severed not long before his demise.
