Dave Stevens, an American illustrator, gained prominence for his good girl and pin-up style illustrations, and particularly for originating The Rocketeer.
During the 1970s, Stevens provided assistance to Russ Manning on the Tarzan comic strips. He was among the artists supporting Manning in finishing the The Frozen World of Ota storyline when Manning became sick during its publication.
Dave Stevens' life concluded on March 10, 2008, following an extended fight against Leukemia.
