David Bischoff


David F. Bischoff, born on December 15, 1951 and passed away on March 19, 2018, was a science fiction author from the United States who penned Be Still My Heart: The Bartender's Tale, a short story featured in Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina.

Biography

David Bischoff, who lived in Eugene, Oregon after being born in Washington D.C., authored numerous science fiction series, notably the Gaming Magi series and the Dragonstar Trilogy in collaboration with Thomas Monteleone. Furthermore, he created novelizations for films like WarGames, The Blob, and Gremlins 2: The New Batch.

His contributions extended to television, including Star Trek: The Next Generation, where he wrote the Tin Man and First Contact episodes (the latter is distinct from the Star Trek film First Contact). He also authored the Star Trek tie-in novel Grounded, which achieved bestseller status.

Bischoff's TV work also encompassed Dinosaucers, a show produced by DIC Entertainment. His fascination with dinosaurs inspired him to write Search for Dinosaurs, the second book in the 24-part Time Machine series.

Bischoff's literary output included approximately seventy-five original novels, alongside tie-in novels for series like Farscape, Space Precinct, and Jonny Quest, many of which he wrote under various pseudonyms. Additionally, he authored nonfiction works related to show business, using different names.
