Decay mite
The decay mites were a species of insect that originated on Talus. They were also present on Corellia.
Characteristics
Native to Talus, decay mites were a type of insect. These creatures moved using six legs, and in addition, they had two arms equipped with pincers, giving them a total of eight limbs. The dung mite and the rot mite were examples of different races and subspecies, which were also located on Talus.
History
During the time of the Galactic Civil War, a large group of giant decay mites made their home inside a cave situated on the planet Talus. It was the opinion of Scientists that a particular element present within the cave's rock formations was responsible for causing these significant alterations within the insects.
Behind the scenes
The first appearance of decay mites was in Star Wars Galaxies, a 2003 video game that was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. Sony Online Entertainment developed the game, and LucasArts published it before the game's servers were shut down on December 15, 2011.
