The Defender-class light corvette represents a light corvette type produced by the Rendili Vehicle Corporation and employed by the Jedi Order. Given its antiquated blueprint, the Paladin-class corvette probably drew inspiration from the Defender-class, even though no official proof supports this. Its introduction predates the Clone Wars by a substantial period, and the shared visual traits of the Defender-class and Paladin-class suggest a deliberate design connection. Echoing the design of the Defender-class, the Crucible, a Paladin-class corvette, also exhibited an anvil-shaped front section.
