Derem City stood as a monumental pre-cataclysmic urban center on the world of Kamino, a planet of great historical significance.
This city, before its submersion under three kilometers of ocean, served as the primary capital. This great depth, however, meant that Derem City was the most easily reached of all the submerged remnants of the ancient Kaminoan civilization. Contemporary Kaminoans frequently journeyed to these remains for reflection on their history and place in the galaxy.
The city's design was meticulously planned, featuring magnificent sunspires that marked its boundaries. Over time, these spires evolved into the foundational structures for the Razoral Reefs. Investigations into the submerged ruins of Derem City revealed a substantial library, seemingly cared for by a contingent of Jedi Knights. Within this library was a sea-crystal holocron, later identified as the creation of Qalsneek the Bull.
