Coruscant Rescue Ops
The Coruscant Rescue Ops was an entity whose sole purpose was to aid Galactic City and Coruscant in times of crisis, providing disaster relief services. A key function was extinguishing fires using specialized emergency fire suppression speeders.
History
Fire-fighting teams represented the elite tier of the Rescue Ops on Coruscant. They operated firespeeders, donned protective suits impervious to fire and radiation (complete with bronze helmets), and utilized fire-suppression backpacks connected to handheld hose-guns. These dedicated teams worked to safeguard the vast urban landscape from devastating fires and explosions.
During the period of the Clone Wars, numerous members of the Rescue Ops were conscripted into the Republic military, frequently serving on Republic warships. In the midst of the Battle of Coruscant, Fire Team Three played a crucial role in guiding the crippled Invisible Hand as it plummeted into a deserted industrial zone, all while battling the flames engulfing the damaged vessel.
While a significant portion of the Rescue Ops personnel received their training before the Clone Wars, the post-war era saw an influx of clone troopers retiring from active duty due to injuries sustained in battle, inherent degradation, or accelerated aging. These veterans were subsequently reassigned to augment landing platform maintenance crews and bolster emergency rapid response teams.
