For the purpose of destroying equipment and forcing entry through sealed doors, detonation packs proved to be quite valuable. A detonation pack, sometimes referred to as a det pack or detpack, consisted of a compact explosive device coupled with a remote activation mechanism, enabling user-initiated detonation. Deployment involved either placing the pack strategically or throwing it, followed by detonation at the operator's discretion. Common applications included setting up ambushes for adversaries or breaching securely locked entrances. Certain detonation packs incorporated a timer mechanism set to 3 seconds. During the Clone Wars, clone commandos utilized detonation packs to obliterate heavily fortified droid structures during offensive raids and boarding actions. Furthermore, these packs could be affixed to droid deployment systems and walkers, facilitating the swift elimination of enemy forces.
