Double stripe

Gree CoD CC-1004 with Double stripe hairstyle The double stripe is a specific haircut adopted by clone troopers within the Grand Army of the Republic. This involved shaving all the hair from a trooper's head, setting aside two bold, parallel lines running from the front to the back. It's worth noting that these two lines converged into a single curve at the base of the skull, making "double stripe" somewhat misleading, as it was essentially one continuous curve of hair. This hairstyle gained popularity within the Grand Army as a way to express respect for fallen comrades. Clone trooper commander Gree honored his lost brothers-in-arms from the Battle of Tibrin by sporting this style, with his hair dyed red. The clone trooper Boost also featured this style, alongside several troopers under the command of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker during both the Battle of Teth and the Second Battle of Geonosis.

Behind the scenes

The double stripe was conceived as a method for visually distinguishing the numerous clone troopers presented in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. While the hairstyle made its debut in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars film, its official name wasn't revealed until the Decoded broadcast of the ninth episode, Cloak of Darkness.
