Jabba's Palace served as the backdrop for Droidfest. Droidfest represented a yearly sales event on Tatooine, where used droids were offered, thanks to the collaborative work of the Jawa Droid Traders. Serving as a public-facing iteration of the Jawa's internal swapmeets held each year, Droidfest drew in a shady group of individuals aiming to acquire inexpensive droids. During the Droidfest that took place in 5 ABY, Ken, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, and R2-D2 made the acquisition of KT-18.
