Centuries prior to the outbreak of the Great Hyperspace War, a battle transpired between two competing Sith Lords, namely Marka Ragnos and Simus. This confrontation aimed to decide which of the two would take on the role of Dark Lord of the Sith species, a position that was vacant at the time. Following his decapitation at the hands of the hybrid Ragnos, Simus was defeated in this battle, which allowed Ragnos to rise to the role of Jen'ari, otherwise known as Dark Lord, and also to become the ruler of the Sith Empire.
