Before the Invasion of Naboo by over a millennium, the Jedi Council fought Volfe Karkko, an Anzat Dark Jedi Master, in a lightsaber duel upon the surface of the planet Kiffex. The Jedi ultimately managed to overpower Karkko following an intense confrontation. Instead of ending his life, they chose to imprison him within a stasis field, where he was left to consider his descent into the dark side of the Force.
