The dunsenn was a large, fish-like species native to the planet Naboo. Gungans utilized these creatures, attaching troop containers to their ventral sides, as aerial troop transports known as FlopCarriers.

Its body functioned similarly to a massive balloon, granting it the ability to float in the atmosphere. Water was taken in through its gills, and propulsion was achieved by expelling air through specialized funnels. When in the air, a powerful rudder tail was used for movement, and large, feather-like fins provided navigation. Furthermore, the front lateral fins could emit jets of cold water, which helped to regulate the dunsenn's body temperature while it floated under the heat of the sun.
