Dura-armor

Dura-armor, also known as DuraArmour, represented an exceptionally resilient, industrial-grade substance. Its properties allowed for the absorption and redirection of energy from blasters. A specific matrix of neutronium, lommite, and zersium comprised this material, enabling the creation of shields, armor, and helmets.

In the era of the Galactic Republic, around the time of the Great Sith War, Core World Arms utilized dura-armor to produce molded armor resistant to impacts. These suits, priced at 8,000 credits each, provided protection against falls and crashes.

The labor droid named Bollux was outfitted with a dura-armor shield when he fought a Mark X Executioner in gladiatorial combat at the Stars' End facility. During a battle on the planet Kestos Minor, Imperial storm commando Modigal Glave suffered a shattered helmet from a close-range blaster shot; dura-armor fragments embedded in his face, leaving scars on his right side. Despite the resulting pain, Glave held off a platoon of Rebels until the arrival of AT-ATs.

Production Notes

The strategy game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds features "DuraArmour" (the spelling used in its manual) as a game mechanic stat. This stat determines a unit's or building's protection against ranged attacks.
